Philippines Air Force Complete IRGs Underslung Load Training Course

IRG have just returned from a base near Manila in the Philippines where they successfully completed an Underslung Load Training Course for the Philippine Air Force (PAF).

Operating out of Clark Air Base in Angeles City, IRG successfully trained 4 pilots and 8 Rear Crewman to conduct underslung load operations safely, and effectively.

2 days of ground lectures were followed with 8 days of flying training in PAF’s s70i Blackhawk helicopters, with a 500kg netted load and utilising both 25’ (7.6m) and 100’ (30m) Long Line Strops. From day 6 – 8, the training progressed to operating the 100’ load in and out of a jungle confined area clearing.

PAF will now consolidate their training, before deploying their new capability in support of the Army, and for disaster relief operations.
